Krystalynn Schlegel (Chair) Contact

Krystalynn works as an independent broker of life, disability, and long term care insurance with her family She entered into the life insurance industry in 2003 at John Hancock and then joined M.G. Schlegel & Associates, Inc. on April 1, 2007. Krystalynn has received several designations including her Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) designation, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation. She is very passionate about her work and it shows in the time and effort she puts into working with every client.
Krystalynn is a member of the Marin County Estate Planning Council. She served on the board of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Marin chapter and served as President for 2008-2010.  During high school, Krystalynn attended the Gunnery School, in Washington, CT, where she now holds a position on the Gunnery Alumni Council. The Council is a group of alumni that help the Board of Trustees to accomplish the goals they set out for growing and expanding the horizon of the school. She also participates in the Novato Community Hospital Fund Development Committee, where the group sets out to raise capital for the continued excellence of care from a small community hospital such as Novato’s and also helps with the Annual NCH Golf Tournament. 
Krystalynn graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 2001 with a Bachelors of Arts in American Studies. Krystalynn was raised in Novato and now resides in Novato with her miniature dachshund, Madison. Some of her passions include world travel and staying healthy, fit and socially active.

Sam, born and raised in Novato, is a Senior Loan Consultant ant Equitable Mortgage Group (EMG) located at the San Rafael Corporate Center.  In addition to helping people finance home purchases and refinance current mortgages for the past 7 years, Sam has dedicated himself to his community by serving on the Downtown Novato Business Association Board, coaching Novato High School Varsity Golf, and is an active member of the Novato Chamber of Commerce.

Sam graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he studied Marketing and Finance, His dedication to his clients, attention to detail, and transparency throughout transactions has been the driving force of his business.

Brittany Keyes (Secretary) Contact

Born and raised in Austin, TX, Brittany migrated to the bay area in 1997.  Eager to learn about real estate investing, she began her mortgage loan consultant career in 2003.  Her Bachelor of Arts in Photography changed from a high school and college career path to a hobby in order to pursue her newly found passion for real estate. 

Brittany has enjoyed becoming a real estate financing guru and specialist in consulting on mortgage planning goals and options.  Her reward is building relationships through education and excellent service.  Giving back to the community is a top priority and she enjoys each friendship forged doing so.

She has experienced and mastered multiple aspects of the lending process from a loan processor to a sales originator, worked as a broker agent with wholesale, direct retail and correspondent lenders.

Partnered with California Mortgage Advisors, Inc., they offer both wholesale broker and direct banking correspondent loan programs.  CMA with 100 plus agents has extensive production volume and was even the top wholesale broker for Wells Fargo Wholesale in 2010, in the country.  They’ve over a dozen correspondent investors supporting their own direct banking department which offers on-site underwriting, doc drawing and funding.

Tim Howard (Treasurer) Contact

Marriot Courtyard, Novato, General Manager

Tim Howard has over 13 years in the Hospitality Industry with Marriott International. Tim attended the University of North Carolina studying Business Administration. He has been a General Manager with Marriott for over 7 years. Currently he is the General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Novato; a hotel that offers services and accommodations to area business and leisure travelers. Tim moved to Marin in 2007 where he lives in Novato.

Tim serves as a Board Member of the Novato Chamber of Commerce as well as the Past-Chairperson on the Novato Tourism Committee of the Chamber’s. He also is a Board Member for the Marin Convention and Visitors Bureau. Tim is a Past-President of the Rotaract Club of Novato; a Community Service based club affiliated with Rotary International for 18-30 year olds. In his free time, Tim volunteers at the Marin Humane Society, and the Novato Humane Needs Center. He likes to travel, cook and play sports. He enjoys socializing with friends, and visits his family in North Carolina whenever possible. *Graduate of Leadership Charlotte, 2005.
